Ethnobotany of Wintersweet(Chimonanthus praecox)

摘要 Wintersweet(Chimonanthus praecox), native to China, is one of the famous and precious woody plants with a long cultivation history. From the viewpoint of ethnobotany, the aesthetical value,plant culture, ornamental value etc were analized. As a famous ornamental plant, wintersweet has also medical, edible and industrial values. Based on the investigation of the use of wintersweet in private gar-dens and modem public green spaces in China, the present situations of wintersweet use in landscape wasanalyzed, and the principles of landscape uses were suggested in the paper.
