Survey and evaluation of wild plant resources with blue flowers in Henan Province

Abstract The name lists of wild blue flowering plants in Henan Province were obtained after geographical investigation and analysis of related resources. There were in total 72 species divided into 25 families and 50 genera. According to the estimating standard of perennial flowers and ground covers,8 indexes were selected to appraise wild blue flowering plants in Henan Province. These indexes included flower appearance,flower diameter,the number of flowers,blossom days,significance degree of the flower,leaf colour and appearance,production cycle,and growth adaptability. Seven species,Aconitum carmichaelii Debx.,Delphinium grandiflorum L.,Pulsatilla chinensis (Bunge) Regel,Viola prionantha,Viola philippica,Scabiosa tschiliensis Grun.,Iris lactea Pall. var. chinensis (Fisch.) Koidz. were selected to be involved in mass production,and the distribution map was drawn of 40 species whose evaluation score were higher than 25.
