Abstract Food source plant s of birds inBird basinshunting region of Dayaoshan Mountain of Jinxiu were investi2gated from J uly 2003 to December 2008. 71 species in 28 families of food source seed plant s provide birds with fruit sand seeds in autumn and winter , they were calledBird2fruit treesby local people. In addition , theBird glue(which was used to stick the birds) that Yao people used for hunting was made from the bark of 9 Aquifoliaceae spe2cies ,which fruit s and seeds were also the main food sources for the birds.
