Investigation on Medicinal Plant Resources in Danzhou Campus of Hainan University

Abstract Tropical areas are rich in plant species,some of which are of medicinal value.In order to raise awareness and understanding of medicinal plants,we did a field investigation about the plant resources of Danzhou Campus of Hainan University.The distribution of main vegetation types and medicinal plant resources was investigated,and recorded 368 medicinal plant resources,belonging to 259 genera of 93 families.Among them,the species of medicinal plants in the ferns were 5.16%,3.53%,3.26%,3.26% and 2.99% of the total number of medicinal plants,Amaranthus,Hematoxylaceae,Hematoxylin,Euphorbiaceae and Mimosa.The results of this study are to master these medicinal plant resources and better develop and utilize them,and to provide basic information for the protection of the rich medicinal plant resources of the Hainan University Danzhou campus.
