大黄：蓼科植物掌叶大黄　　Rheum palmatum L．、唐古特大黄Rheum tanguticum Maxim. ex Balf.或药用大黄Rheum officinale Baill.的干燥根和根茎。秋末茎叶枯萎或次春发芽前采挖，除去细根，刮去外皮，切瓣或段，绳穿成串干燥或直接干燥。
芒消：为硫酸盐类芒硝族矿物芒硝 Mirabilite 的提纯品。

Indications: 大便暴秘不通，骨肉强痛，体气烦热，唇口干焦。

Usage and dosage: 上药先切大黄，以水四升，煮取二升，去
滓；纳芒消，顿服之。须臾利。良久不觉，以热
饮投之。
